Trip to Brazil 2023
Day 1: 3rd July 2023, Monday
12:00 am
- me and my friends take off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Galeão
International Airport one of the busiest airport in the country.
09:00 am - we reached Galeão International Airport. Since brazil time is 11 hours behind Malaysia, we have to change our watch time zone to brazil time. It took us about 21 hours of flight journey.
10:30 am - After we
landed in Galeão International Airport we went to collect our baggage
then went to customs checking.
11:00 am - After finish
all the formalities in airport we’ve booked a taxi to pick up us and drop us at
Hilton Barra Rio De Janeiro hotel. The journey from airport to the hotel
took us about 30 minutes.
11:30 am - After we
reached the hotel, we check in a room with 4 single bed then we plan to spend the
whole day for rest and roaming near the hotel.
1:00 pm - we first start
to look for something to eat. We’ve been searching for so long for a restaurant
that suits our taste.
2:00 pm - Finally we found one restaurant that suits us, Camarada Camarão Nova América Restaurant, far from hotel about 5 minutes walking distance. here they served rice and beans, salads, Vegetarian food, desserts, steak, seafoods.
2:05 pm – the waiter gave us the menu so we ordered 2 bowl of salads, 2 plates of crisp prawns, 5 plates of rice and beans, 2 ice cream cake. while waiting for food we the ambient in this restaurant is really good, they played a western classical music and the lights around the restaurant is really wonderful, the table looks clean and well arranged. The waiter in this restaurant is very politeful, very friendly.
2:30 pm – the food been served, firstly the rice and beans taste
good especially the dry black beans which is high in protein taste good.
Secondly the salads taste absolutely wonderful with a mixture of meat. The bowl
of salads is full of energy sources vegetables. These types of foods are new to
us but we feel nice to eat here. Finally the Ice cream cake taste very sweet,
spongy and cheesy. in overall our rating for this restaurant would 4/5. The
rating low is due to the price is quite expensive compare to street vendors.
3:30 pm – finished our lunch and went to the mosque nearby to perform our Dhuhr prayers then we went for a small walk around the streets. We saw a shop that selling famous Brazilian sweets that only available in brazil, they sell paçoca, a nut-based sweet that tastes like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, pão de mel, a small sweet cake with honey, brigadeiro, a ball of chocolate condensed milk and canjica, a mix of white corn with condensed milk and cinnamon. we started to bargain to the street vendor until we get our desired price. And finaly we got it for 30 brazilian real so we bought 3 packs of those sweets so that while walking around the streets we can have some.
5:00 pm – while walking around we notice a shop
selling bottled butter where they use to pour it over dish such as meat, rice,
beans to give some extra flavor. Maybe it is unhealthy but it taste delicious.
We bought it for 15 brazilian real. So that we can try it in Malaysia.
6:00 pm – we went to a shop called Brazilian
souvenirs, there they sell the most iconic monuments In the world (christ the
redeemer, the sugarloaf mountain, Maracaña stadium) they make a unique style of
this monuments such as glass, wood, steel. They also selling t-shirt of brazil.
We spend almost 2 hours inside the shop to buy lots of souvenirs.
8:00 pm – after all our shopping we went to the
nearby mosque to perform our Asr prayers then while walking back to hotel we
saw a big shop selling musical instruments. We communicate with those staffs
about the history of Brazilian national music, they explained to us that brazil
has its own unique music such as samba, forró and funk. Since we don’t have much knowledge in musical
instruments we didn’t buy any of those but we have fun in the shop while
playing their instruments. It’s a really good experience.
9:30 pm – we reached
hotel and arranged all our shopping items in our luggage and prepare for Maghrib
prayers. After we completed our Maghrib prayers we went to the dining area for
dinner, there they served sausage, bread, salads, feijoada. We took all of them
and it all taste so good.
10:30 – After finish our
dinner we come back to our room then perform our last Isha prayer of the day
11:00 pm – we talk with
our family members for a while then we go to sleep.
Day 2: 4th July 2023, Tuesday
6:00 am – we woke up and perform our
Fajr prayers then felt asleep again.
10:00 am
– we woke up freshly and went to shower then we went to had our breakfast and
the hotel dining area.
10:30 am
– at the dining area they served rice and beans, soups, bread, jam, fruits,
oats, salads, Brazilian cheese bread, tea and French bread. We didn’t had much
we just had some apples, salads, bread and jam and one tea. Their tea is not
soo tasty but It kept us full of stomach.
12:00 pm
– after we get ready we started our tour to Rio’s main attractions. First place
we visit is Corcovado where the famous statue of christ the redeemer is
located. the statue is located at the top of mount Corcovado.The height of the
statue is 124ft, we have to look up very high to see the statue from close.
From ground we don’t have to take stairs to reach the statue, brazil government
provide lift for the people to easily reach the statue. This statue took 9
years to built and their effort didn’t went useless, because christ the
redeemer statue is a world wonder. Some wish to get married at christ the
redeemer statue. It was a very nice experience of taking photograph around the
statue and it is also interesting to know about the history of the Christ the
redeemer.
3:00 pm –
we get down from the mountain Corcovado then we went for Dhuhr prayers and we
went to had our lunch at Burger joint Corvovado. They served a very tasty
burger with full of cheese, mayonese, and salad. We order 2 chicken burger, 2
beef burger, 1 lamb burger. It taste yummy.
4:00 pm –
After we had a quick lunch we directly move to our second desitination Maracana
Stadium, while travelling to Maracana stadium we cross the best scenic Tijuca
Forest. after an hour of travelling we reached Maracana stadium, here are
the history of World cup finals from 1950 and 2014. The best football moment of
all time, from Pele to Neymar Jr. this is the place where they are belongs to.
6:00 pm –
we went for Asr prayers then we continue our journey to Sambadrome,
which is the stage of the samba school parades performance during Rio de
Janeiro Carnival. At the school we saw lots of people train samba with
varieties of beautiful clothes, football juggling. This place is very
interesting because they have lots of activities.
7:30 pm – we moved from Sambadrome to Sugar loaf complex while travelling we pass by the Metropolitan Cathedral of São Sebastião, the patron of the city. The place is nice to see but we don’t stop there due to shortage of time and there is nothing special at that place
7:50 pm – we reached Sugar loaf complex,
we had a chance to hop on the cable car it was a wonderful view to see from
the top.
8:10 pm – the cable car point stationed to Morro
da urca, near Praia Vermelha beach and old Casino of Urca. These
places is really wonderful because we cross mountain to mountain to reach a
beautiful beach, it is so called red beach. At night time the beach party
started to light up and they have some shows such as fire show, music, games,
dance. The whole place is so relaxing and that is the happiest place ever I’ve
ever seen.
10:00 pm – we got back to hotel and perform our
Maghrib prayers and went to eat dinner at dining area, the same dish they
prepared so we just ate normally and come back to room. Since we are so tired.
11:00 pm – we finished our Isha prayers and
call our family members to tell them about our day.
12:00 pm – the lights turned off and we went to sleep.
Day 3: 5th July 2023, Wednesday
6:00 am – we woke up and perform our
Fajr prayers then felt asleep again.
9:00 am – we woke up and brush our teeth then
went to buy tortilla and sardine for breakfast. It taste exactly like Malaysian
Sardine taste. We absolutely love it.
11:00 am – we fresh up and start our tour to Angra
dos Reis on air-conditioned bus, it
took us 2 hours from the hotel to reach Angra dos Reis,
1:00 pm – we reached Angra dos Reis, the
coastal city that is home to ilha grande. there are total 365 islands.
We visit 10 main beautiful islands in Angra dos Reis. We took some beautiful
pictures around the island. The scenery there are really beautiful and we enjoy
the moment there. We call our family through whatsapp video call to show them
the beautiful island.
2:00 pm – we prepare our swimsuit and we jump
into the sea. We spend almost half of the day there swimming, and enjoy our
peace moment there. We did a scuba diving, we ride jet ski, banana boat, donut
boat, we fly on parachute. We really enjoy all the activities there.
3:00 pm – we had our simple lunch bread, sardine,
sausage, peanut butter, tuna, and some fruits.
3:20 pm – after we finished our lunch we
started to do barbeque chicken, beef, lamb, prawn, fish, sausage, octopus. We
all do barbeque together, we enjoy our time there
4:30 pm – we all ate our food while having fun,
we ended our trip at Angra Dos Reis
5:00 pm – we hop on an air-conditioned and back
to hotel. while going back to hotel we cross beautiful mountains, jungle, sea,
river. We really enjoyed the scenarios. After 30 mins the bus start to run we
felt asleep in the bus. The seat really comfortable. The bus driver plays some
good Brazilian songs. (make me your queen) It feel relaxed.
7:30 pm – we reached our hotel by 7:30 pm straight away we went to had
our lunch at dining area they served Vatapá,
Acarajé, deep fried pastel, bolinho de bacalhau and farofa. We really enjoyed it. The bolinho taste exactly like
chocolate cupcake, the Vatapa is Brazilian shrimp stew it taste good but the
prawn is overcooked and the taste of prawn seems to be bad.
8:30 pm – since it’s the last night for us in Rio De Janeiro we
went for a light shopping and we took some night views pictures at there.
9:00 pm – we bought some peanuts on the start of our shopping at
street vendor. Till the end of our shopping we just bought 2 pack of peanuts.
10:30 pm – we came back to our room and finished our leftover
prayers. After all our prayers completed we call our family and friends to
share them our experience in Rio De Janeiro. After we ended our call
with family
11:00 pm - we went to eat ice cream at night, it is a really
nice moment.
12:00 pm – we went to sleep
Day 4: 6th July 2023, Thursday
7:00 am –
we checked out from Hilton Barra Rio De Janeiro. We booked a taxi from
hotel to airport. Our flight is at 9 am. We reached airport at 8am.
8:00 am –
we reached airport and bring our luggage to check in counter. After checked in
our luggage. We obtained the boarding pass. We head to the flight.
8:40 am –
we get in the flight. the air hostess looks very beautiful and cute there. We
look at the airhostess and feel nervous to talk but we find a way to talk with
the airhostess.
9:05 am –
the flight took off. We started a conversation with the beautiful airhostess,
after some conversation we took a selfie with the airhostess. that is a really
nice moment to take selfie with beautiful airhostess. we had our breakfast at
flight with bread, jam and some fruits and juice
1:35 pm –
we landed at Manaus international Airport after 4.30 hours of
travelling. After we out from the flight We pick our luggage at baggage counter
then we head to customs checking. After the checking is over, we finished our
prayers at airport and outside airport there is a local guide is waiting for us
at airport with a signboard written our name.
2:10 pm – the local guide told us to spend this day on your own. So we decided to spend our Time in the hotel for a while then start to go for small city tour.
3:00 pm –
we get fresh up and we carry our small bag with water bottle in it. The first
place we went was Amazon Theatre, a grand opera house located in the
rainforest. The moment we went there, there is a Orchestra rehearsal inside the
theatre. We stay there for a while and look at their orchestra. It looks nice
and the rehearsal were all good.
4:20 pm –
we had our lunch at Tambaqui de Banda, there they served egg fry, fish
fry, chicken breast, mushroom soup, vegetable soup. The taste not so tasty but
we eat not for the taste, just to fill our stomach. In overall we rate this
restaurant as 3/5 because the place looks nice and the price also expensive but
the food quality is not there.
4:30 pm –
we continue our walk at Mercado Adolpho, A historic marketplace that offers crafts and
food. While we walk at that area we saw lots of people selling fish, prawn,
mussels, that place really smells so stingy. We walk away from there the we
reached fruit stall, we bought some apples, orange, pear, banana, grapes. While
walking around the street we eat those.
5:30 pm –
we saw a place that sells handicraft using rattan. We saw the process of making
the rattan chair, rattan basket, rattan furniture and rattan lamps. It is
really interesting so we bought one rattan basket for us. And we bought some
rattan furniture to give souvenirs to our friends.
6:30 pm –
We make end our day at Manaus Botanical Gardens MUSA, that is a garden
within a forest. the garden is full of colourful flowers and various of colours
flowers in the garden. We took lots of photograph there for our memories.
8:00 pm –
we went to Museu da Amazonia, A museum in Manaus. We look at their place
history and we almost felt asleep so we speed up our trip at there then we out
from there
10:00 pm
– we went to Manauara Shopping Centre, at there we bought some outfit
for us and some souvenirs for our friends & family.
1:00 am –
we back to hotel then had our dinner just a chicken burger. After we finish our
dinner we finish our prayers then we went to sleep. We don’t have enough energy
to stay up for more long time.
Day 5: 7th July 2023, Friday
10:00 am – we woke up and had our simple
breakfast then we get ready fast because the tourist guide is waiting for us at
the lobby. We rush to shower and breakfast on that day,
11:00 am – we depart from Hotel to the Port
of Ceasa, then we transfer by speedboat to Careiro Community, we
take a short stop to see the Meeting of the Waters, we saw a brown and
muddy river phenomenon. It was like a border on the sea water surface. We took
some pictures there.
12:00 pm – We transfer our transport to car to reach Mamori river. Along the way to Mamori river we stop at Victoria regia to take some photos. The Victoria regia is famous by the name Queen of the Pond because Victoria regia have a largest aquatic plant in it which is waterlily. Kids below than 30 kg can sleep on it and it won’t sink. That is it because the structure of the leaf.
1:00 pm – we took a speedboat to Amazon Jungle Lodge while seeing birds, alligators, and other animals. After we reach the lodge we take some rest and we had our lunch. This time We had rice, chicken, meat, fish, and some eggs. For dessert the waiter serve us with 2 slice of red velvet cake and ice cream.
7:00 pm – we spend our whole day by the water.
We had our dinner at lodge just a chicken popcorn and fruits.
8:00 pm – we went back to our lodge and call
our friends & family to share the experience we had.
10:00 pm – we finished our calls and prayers we
head to bed to sleep.
Day 6: 8th July 2023, Saturday
8:00 am – we woke up today, we know that some
interesting activities is awaiting us today. We had our breakfast, then we went
to shower. After we dressed up. The local guide wait for us at the lodge
parking.
9:00 am – the local guide bring us for a
morning walk in the jungle. We walk through the mud, sand, and we also found
some small creature around there. The local guide explain us about medical
plants, survival techniques, and the local flora and fauna. The way he
explained to us is quite interesting. We enjoy going with him. In our
experience of travelling we would say he is the best guide we’ve ever seen.
1:00 pm – we had our lunch at the jungle. The
local guide packed food for us and bring to the jungle. The experience having
lunch in the jungle is really fantastic.
2:00 pm – after we enjoy our lunch, the
afternoon we spend out on the water fishing for piranhas, we though we won’t
get one, but our luck we get few piranhas. After we catch those piranhas we
took some photos and let it go. We experienced a thrill adventurous moment. We
saw snake, some wild creature there.
7:00 pm – we return to our lode to enjoy a
buffet style dinner, they served Arabic food specially for us, they served
biryani rice, shawarma, chicken grill, meat, lamb shank kurma. And kunafa for
dessert. All the food taste good, especially the kunafa taste really sweet. We
planned to go for night tour.
9:00 pm – we went for night tour around the
jungle to explore wildlife after sundown. We keep a close watch for alligators,
snakes, piranhas. We saw a group of piranhas kill an alligator. It is totally
scary, after we saw that we get really shocked.
11:00 pm – we back to our lodge. we really
enjoyed the day. we took a great pictures. we review the pictures we took then
we found out that behind us we saw a creature flying. That creature is called toucans.
That creature have a orange colour mouth and black and white body. Near our
hotel we saw Rufos-Bellied thrush, that creature is small and the sound
is very nice to hear.
12:00 pm – we went to sleep after we review our
picture.
Day 7: 9th July 2023, Sunday
10:00 am – we woke up and fresh up then we
enjoyed our breakfast at the Amazon Jungle Lodge. Before we check out the lodge
we clean up the room and inform the lobby. After we gave them the key we hop on
a bus and head to the hotel in Manaus.
2:00 pm – we reached our hotel in Manaus, we
packed our luggage and we had a quick shower and we checked out from the hotel
we head to the airport.
5:00 pm – we reached Manaus international
Airport, we check in our luggage and get our boarding pass. After a while we
get our boarding pass. We check out that our flight has been delayed 1 hour. It
supposed to be 7:00 pm but after delayed our flight departure time has become
8:00 pm. Wee calmly wait for the departure. While waiting we bought KFC and we
all ate it. We really enjoy the KFC here. Taste feel more good.
7:30 pm – the gate opened, we enter the flight
and that is our last moment in Brazil so we took our last picture in the
flight. after a while the flight took off, we fell asleep as soon the flight
took off.
5:00 pm (Malaysia time) – we reached KLIA 2,
our friend come to fetch us at the airport. He bring us to his house. While
travelling we talk to him about our trip, he feels excited to hear about it.
